The Mainland Tactix has received a boost at the start of their pre-season training with a financial donation from an unexpected source.
The anonymous donation will not only assist the Tactix during season 2016, but also contribute to the development of a new indoor court facility in Christchurch.
Netball Mainland chief executive Brigit Hearn says she can’t thank the benefactor enough.
“We were looking for sponsorship and funding for the Tactix and we were also working with the Christchurch Netball Centre around funding for an indoor court facility development,” Hearn told NZME.
“So the conversations sort of came together and an anonymous benefactor decided they would like to be a party to supporting Netball within the Zone - both facilities and teams.
“I can't thank them enough really for their support of Netball in this region.”
The donation has put the Tactix in a strong position financially two months out from their opening match of the 2016 ANZ Championship.
They will face the Queensland Firebirds on Friday 1 April at BCEC in Brisbane at 7pm (local time).
