Grand Final Broadcast
The ANZ Championship, in conjunction with FOX SPORTS and SBS, has one of the most comprehensive Australian broadcast deals in the sport’s history with every game of the ANZ Championship to be broadcast live.
The multi-platform deal sees all 69 ANZ Championship games, including finals, broadcast live on FOX SPORTS while SBS 2 will air live Sunday afternoon’s 12.00pm match simultaneously with FOX SPORTS. SBS also has rights to finals matches on its free-to-air television network.
New for 2014 is a broadcast deal with NITV to replay the SBS 2 match on Tuesday evenings at 10pm.
Australian netball fans can also watch all 69 games of this year’s ANZ Championship thanks to Telstra’s new SportsFan mobile app.The SportsFan app is free
to download and is available for compatible iOS and android phone and tablet
Games will available to
watch within two hours of first centre pass.
New Zealand Broadcast
Netball in New Zealand enjoys a huge following thanks to the ongoing support of broadcaster SKY Television, who have committed to showing all 69 ANZ Championship matches throughout the season live. Each match is replayed multiple times across the four SKY Sport channels ensuring blanket coverage of the ANZ Championship throughout the season.
SKY Sport also offers a dedicated half-hour netball show, The Netball Zone, which screens every Monday night across the ANZ Championship season. The show is broadcast live from the match venue and features analysis, reviews and interviews with full wrap up of results and statistics and is hosted by notable netball personalities.
PRIME Television, the home of free-to-air sport, also shows highlights of the previous round every week of the ANZ Championship. All televised netball matches have highlights produced to view online at www.skysport.co.nz within a few hours of each match finishing.
For the first time in 2014, New Zealand viewers will be able to watch ANZ Championship netball free-to-air in te reo Maori with SKY Television signing an agreement with Maori Television to show one ANZ Championship match each week on the Te Reo channel, with Maori commentary. The matches feature every Tuesday night.
